Data Centers—
Local governments should approve breaking ground only after an exhaustive public comment period.
State lawmakers must ensure data centers are tightly regulated to reduce harm to our environment and our neighbors.
State lawmakers must require that data centers to set aside funds to remediate any harm done to residents as a result of the data center’s construction or operation.

Line 5—I oppose the continued operation of Line 5 because it poses unnecessary environmental risks, violates the spirit and intent of treaties with Tribal Nations, and represents a failure to learn from past corporate misconduct.
Michigan's Great Lakes are one of our state's greatest natural resources. A spill in the Straits of Mackinac would have devastating consequences for our drinking water, economy, tourism, fishing industry, and wildlife. The risk is simply too great.
I also believe we have a responsibility to honor the treaty rights of Tribal Nations. Courts have repeatedly affirmed many of these treaty rights, and government should respect both the law and our commitments to Indigenous communities.
My opposition is also informed by history. The energy industry has too often prioritized profits over people, and the legacy of corporate deception—from the Enron scandal to other examples of misleading the public about energy and environmental impacts—underscores why strong public oversight and accountability are essential.
Michigan should invest in a clean, reliable energy future that protects our water, respects tribal sovereignty, creates good-paying jobs, and strengthens our energy infrastructure without putting our Great Lakes at risk.
Reproductive Rights—Bodily autonomy is our most sacred right. There should be no uninvited guests at your doctor’s appointment—not a parent, not a spouse and definitely not the government.
LGBTQ+ Rights—Y’all. I don’t care what you’re doing in your bedroom as long as y’all are consenting adults.
Michigan must pass it’s own marriage equality law in the event the Supreme Court overturns Obergefell vs. Hodges.
Trans people exist. They are people. They are endowed by their Creator with certain inalienable rights to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.
Tuition-Free Retraining Programs Like Michigan Reconnect—Yes, please!
